• What: An all you can eat Spaghetti Feast with our famous homemade sauce, oodles of noodles, tables of desserts and much more! You can even take a to-go box home with you!!

If this is your first visit to our website, here is a little about the mission: Our Mission is March 8-17, 2012 (less than 40 days away!). 24 members from Concordia Lutheran Church & Lutheran Student Fellowship in Pullman, Washington in partnership with Lutheran Hour Ministries will be traveling the Puerto Barrios, Guatemala. While there we will be putting on VBS (Vacation Bible Schools) for over 500 children: one program in the morning at the Lutheran school, and two in the afternoon at both the Lutheran school and the Lutheran Community center. In addition to the VBS programs we will be working on a construction project at the Community Center. This will be our third mission to Guatemala since 2008 and we are excited to see old friends and make new one while carrying out this important ministry in the community of Puerto Barrios. • When: Satruday, January 28 starting at 1pm
• Where: Concordia Lutheran Church fellowship hall
• What: count/label/bag VBS craft projects (700 per day X three days); count/label/bag gifts for children (also 700 per day X three days); make cross necklace kits; color-code children’s name tags; and have a TON of good fun working together!
• Who: You! and Guatemala trip members! All are welcome and many are needed to help out! Please feel free to show up and we will put you to work. Thank you so much for your support, hope to see you there!

In the next several weeks we will be coordinating times to assemble craft packets and gifts. A large part of our trip ministry is supplying all the needed crafts supplies for the VBS programs we lead. So if you are interested in helping out with this important part of our ministry watch the church bulletin & announcements and this page for days and times. Our ministry is depended on the help of our congregation and we thank you all for everything you’ve done and will do! You are ALL part of this team even if you are not physically going.

This year is presenting us with a new opportunity and challenge; as the Lutheran school in Puerto Barrios is growing we will now be providing a second VBS program in the afternoon at the same time we are leading VBS at the Lutheran Community Center. So this means we will have a VBS at the school in the morning, then another VBS at the school in the afternoon in addition to the VBS at the community center-that is a lot of VBS! We are excited for this new opportunity but it will be presenting us with some unique logistic challenges for running two programs at different locations at the same time. And we will also still have a construction crew at the community center all day. So as you can imagine some creative planning on our parts will be taking place.

In other news (albeit a few weeks late) our trip shirts have arrived! I believe all the trip members have picked up their shirts already but if not be sure to check in with Ann and she’ll get you taken care of. Thanks to Ann and Carla for designing and ordering! I may be biased but I have to say they look pretty great!

Also a HUMONGOUS THANK YOU to everyone who helped out with the Auction and Talent show in December it was a HUGE success. Thank you especially to Rick and Ashley for spearheading that planning of that event, and thank you to everyone who attended, preformed and donated. I hear there is a video floating around of the LSFer’s skit, hopefully we can get that posted on here soon.

So the next 64 days will be packed with lots of planning, craft assembling and getting ready for March 8th! Please keep the whole team in your prayers as we are entereing the home stretch and things will really start to pick up. Some of our team members are still facing some health challenges and are faced with making big decisions regarding their attendance on the trip. Please keep them in your prayers for dicernment. And as always please pray for the people of Guatemala who are also preapring for our arrival!
